Chris follows the sound of music to the very end of the training center. He turns and finds a boy with a guitar sitting in a lonely corner.
It’s the District 10 male. The 18-year-old with curly blond hair and sleepy eyes, which Chris now sees is a striking green. He spares Chris a split-second look before darting his eyes to continue strumming. It’s like he wants to blend into the gym itself. To become invisible.
“Did you really bring a guitar as a token?”
“I tried to bring my electric one but they didn’t let me,” the other boy says quietly. “I prefer electric. Acoustic isn’t loud enough.”
Four boys from different districts are reaped for the Hunger Games. Not expecting to survive, they cope by making a band. And that band is Coldplay.

Phoenix nodded, reading from a legal pad. “We’re going with five filings total, staggered. First wave: 402 Motion and Motion to Compel. Second wave: 1538.5 Motion to Suppress, then a Motion in Limine pre-trial. 995 Motion draft stays in the back pocket in case prelim goes sideways. You two handle the Compel and Suppress. Focus on chain of custody and device access. Get it clean and cite 1538.5 just in case they fished something without a warrant.”
“What about the livestream?” Apollo asked.
Phoenix didn’t blink. “I’m handling the 402.”
Pause.
“Of course you are,” Athena said, without looking up.
“This isn’t about ego,” Phoenix said, already opening his laptop. “It’s about framing. That footage is the prosecution’s narrative keystone. If we can shake intent before prelim, we force them to rethink their theory.”
“Right,” Athena said, “and it has nothing to do with the fact that your prosecutorial counterpart is your emotionally complex maybe-soulmate.”
(In which an influencer gets charged with burglary right after Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth finally decide to make things complicated.)
