“Lan Xichen?” the voice on the other end belonging to an unknown caller asked.
“This is he,” Lan Xichen said, as he poured his congee into his bowl, as he brought it, and the tea he’d prepared earlier to the table.
“I’m very sorry to be the one to inform you. Your cousin and his wife were involved in a hit and run last night, where their car was hit head on at an intersection. I’m sure the detectives can give you more information about the accident. Neither of them made it. They passed away on the scene. I’m calling you in regard to the custody of their son.”
And just like that, he felt the world begin to spin.
-Or Lan Xichen is thrust into the unexpected role of parenthood, as he and Lan Jingyi attempt to navigate their new waters together. He's just lucky to have such a good friend like Nie Mingjue by his side. And staying in his house. Indefinitely. To help him out, of course.
