Summary
Midoriya Izuku has had heroism running through his veins since he was four years old and the doctors told him he'd never get a quirk. He'd never get that thing- that special something- that all people had.

The last thing he saw before darkness of the portal swallowed him up was Kisuke’s smile. Despite the pale tiredness of his face, his lips were kind, and the smile was almost too bright against the darkness.
