Summary
It’s been five years since Gon and Killua parted ways at the World Tree, where Gon lost his Nen, his father, and his best friend.
After turning nineteen, Gon sets off on a life-changing journey across the world, tracking Killua’s secret hideout to a remote cabin in the Roto Mountains. But unbeknownst to Gon, he’s being followed.
How will Gon and Killua bridge the five years of distance and all the fractures that have formed between them?
And most pressing of all— how will they manage to shake off the two devils on their tails?

Summary
“I’m telling you that I think of you as my friend,” Kurapika spoke so calmly that it made Killua want to get angry all over again, “And being someone’s friend means accepting that friends can be different with how they show people their love. We don’t all have to be like Gon.”
Killua held his breath. Silence filled the space between them.
“You don’t have to be like Gon.”

Friendship isn't exactly an easy thing to grasp for anyone. Having no friends beforehand makes it an awful lot harder for Killua to learn just what the hell that word really means.Bookmarked by JayReads

you shouldn’t have said those things. you shouldn’t have felt those things. but he’s gone. like his father and yours. equally as dead and alive, drowned and breathing. among the whales and wolves. he lived like you couldn’t. but you got the baby. you tried to raise him human, you really did. but it didn’t work. just like it hadn’t with you.

Summary
There wasn’t a rule, exactly, that said that Ritsu wasn’t allowed to spend time with his brother. It was just something that was understood, like how Ritsu understood he wasn't supposed to press his hands along the sharp edges of his mother’s kitchen knives.
(or: an age swap where only Mob and Reigen's ages are changed. Shigeo asks his little brother if he wants to walk him home after school. Ritsu should say no. Ritsu does not say no.)
