“Oh, I assure you that it isn’t. Your life won’t be spent behind bars, Yuder.” The man leaned back, folded his hands on his lap, and smiled. “You belong to me now. Be sure to be good for me, won’t you?”
Yuder stared blankly at the man, waiting for the man to say that he was joking. Silence filled the carriage.
His lips moved soundlessly. It wasn’t a joke. After a few moments, Yuder answered absently, head reeling, “I’ll try.”

Summary
