“Let’s not do this again…”
“Then tell me, Chi Cheng…” He stepped closer, his voice low and cutting. “Am I just the place you run to when life with her becomes unbearable?”
Chi Cheng wanted to say it wasn’t like that at all. That every second, he wanted to be here with Wu Suo Wei instead of in that cold house—without love, without warmth. But he didn’t. Of course he didn’t. Communication had never been his strength.
Instead, he broke the tension with a single breath of a word.
“Da Bao… I don’t want to fight,” Chi Cheng said, his voice rough. “I missed you…”

Summary
Chi Cheng and Wu Suo Wei were extremely close as children. Suo Wei was always the quiet and fragile one, while Chi Cheng acted as his protector. At the time, it seemed like their bond would never change.
However, Chi Cheng began to change unexpectedly. He slowly distanced himself without explanation, and Suo Wei never questioned it. Even though they remained neighbors and maintained familiarity, they were no longer close. Suo Wei came to terms with the fact that Chi Cheng was no longer the protective figure he once was.
But then Chi Cheng suddenly reentered Suo Wei’s life—not gradually, but forcefully. He disrupted Suo Wei’s routines, invaded his space, and became an unavoidable presence.
