The day the famous chef Vincent Charbonneau would never live to experience.Lying on his bed, Vincent drifts back through the years, back to the man with the auburn hair, his stupid smile, the hopelessly clumsy hands whenever he stepped into the dining room, making the same excuses over and over again. Yet something in Vincent had ached for that foolish man. Maybe it was the way the man saw Vincent - truly saw him - not as the cold, iron-hearted boss the rest of the kitchen feared, but as a person. Or maybe it was simply that the man cared, openly, earnestly. He had a heart wide enough for anyone who needed it.
Vincent never believed he could love anyone besides his bistro or himself. But there he was - the proof that Vincent had been wrong all along.
And yet, when it came to the man’s love, Vincent knew he could never compete.

Tony Stark was tired. But he had a planet to protect, even if everyone laughed at him whenever the prospect of alien invasions was brought up. He could count on one hand how many people he could trust, which was disheartening but then, what else was new?
