    Summary

Kim Dokja has exactly 180 days left to live.

After years on the battlefield, the war is over—but his body has called its own ceasefire. Terminally ill and running out of time, the former soldier finds himself haunted not just by the ghosts of combat, but by the words he never said. There’s one person who never left his mind: Yoo Joonghyuk, the fellow soldier who once fought beside him—and who was sent home in silence, bloodied and broken, long before the war ended.

Believing Yoo Joonghyuk is alive and recovering in a hospital far away, Kim Dokja makes a quiet vow: one letter, every day, until the end. A hundred and eighty letters for the man he loves.

    Summary

Kim Dokja’s phone buzzed — a message from an unknown account: About the Rachmaninoff review. He almost ignored it. He rarely entertained private messages.

But something made him open it.

I read your review of the Rachmaninoff concert three times. I’ve read everything you’ve written about my playing over the years, the criticism, the praise, the observations that made me hear my own performances differently. You wrote once that my Beethoven sounded like a monument to human achievement and a testament to nothing. I kept that sentence on my desk for months. It made me practice differently. It made me listen to myself differently.

I don’t know who you are. I don’t need to know. But I wanted to tell you that your presence at the concert — knowing you were listening, knowing you would write with your honest cruelty changed how I played. The trill in the adagio. I held it because I knew you would hear whether I let go or not.

Thank you for listening. Thank you for being honest. Thank you for hoping, even when I gave you no reason to.

    — Y.

    Summary

Kim Dokja is not upset about being used as a pawn. He's happy he can help him. He's happy he can help Yoo Joonghyuk reach the end of the scenarios. Despite that, he can't. He can't stand so close. His chest hurts. The protagonist doesn't like him and he wants to go somewhere far away and curl up into a ball and be left alone and—

    "Kim Dokja…? Are you—"

Yoo Joonghyuk's surprised words were cut short by weak but insistent hands pushing at his chest.

"Move…please," Kim Dokja murmured, his voice quiet and his words cracking halfway through, his fingers trembling against the firm chest. His eyes burned. He blinked back the tears. The loss of the fourth wall made him so sensitive to the regressor to the point that it was wretched.

After failing a scenario, Yoo Joonghyuk and Kim Dokja are forced into a penalty scenario where they must survive without their skills and coin stats. For Kim Dokja, it feels like the end of the world when he realizes that the fourth wall was gone.

“Do you think you deserve this?” the Oldest Dream asks.

Dokja is exhausted, miserable, shaky in his own skin. He’s so tired of being tired. “I’m starting to think I do,” he says.

    Summary

At 7,500 meters, the human soul weighs no more than a breath. Kim Dokja believed that his life was a small price to pay for Yoo Joonghyuk’s dream. He sharpened the steel of his crampons, silenced the rattle in his lungs, and prepared to be the shadow that leads a hero to the top. But he forgot one thing: on the Lhotse Face, a rope connects two hearts, and if one falls, the other doesn't want to fly alone.

A story about a climb that was never about the summit, and a descent that became a return to life.
