“Did you know that kissing is good for you?”
Buck asks the question out of absolutely nowhere, and Eddie blinks as he tries to process the words. To be fair, it’s barely seven in the morning — on their day off, after Eddie’s night on the couch — and he’s yet to have the coffee that typically kicks his brain into action.
Also, what?
“Buck,” he says, rubbing at his eyes. “What?”
Or: Eddie and Buck start platonically kissing.

“Didn’t know you were seeing someone.”
Buck just laughs. Like, honest to god giggles. Eddie is stuck fighting off doubly massive waves of butterflies and confusion, all while Buck just gazes down at him.
“That’s cute,” he hears Buck mumble, just before climbing into the truck, calling Eddie after him.

It's during the seventh Buck-related story that Eddie figures out what is going on. It’s when his tía is telling him how Buck has replaced the squeaky old boards of her porch steps, how he’s coming back the day after to paint them, that Eddie realizes that his aunt is dating Buck.
She’s been dropping hints for weeks now, like a trail of breadcrumbs for Eddie to follow, rather than outright telling him. Well, two can play this tiptoeing game.
"Buck really sounds like a triple threat," he tells her with a smug tone.
"Oh he really is,” she says, matching his tone exactly.

In an alternative universe, where the first words spoken to a person by their soulmate are marked on their skin like a tattoo, Buck has "Fuck off" written over his heart.
He's spent most of his life worried about just how much of an asshole his soulmate is going to be, and what that means for their future relationship.
Then he meets the guy outside of a juice bar, and it doesn't exactly go as Buck thought it would.
