Summary
“Merlin,” Arthur says, and his voice has calmed, but there is still steel in the substructure of it. “You asked me to conjure fire; tell me how you've got the burn scar on your chest.”
It is everything Merlin can do not to laugh, hysteria gathering in the hollows of his teeth; of course, this is the scar that Arthur would ask about first. “No. Ask about another one.”
An attack gone wrong leaves Merlin and Arthur stuck in each other's bodies. While Merlin thinks the most complicated part is that Arthur ends up with his magic, it does not take long until he is reminded that it can always, always get worse.

He looks a little cautious, but sweetly clueless, apparently not realising that it’s him who Arthur is going to kiss and not one of his knights. Arthur briefly feels sorry for what he’s going to do, but then again, Merlin is his best match. The younger boy might be scrawny and narrow-chested, but he’s neither repulsive, nor an arse, doesn’t have a scratchy beard nor bad breath - in fact, Arthur has it on good authority that Merlin’s breath always smells nice because he’s one of the cleanest people he ever met and chews peppermint leaves every morning. Summary
Arthur doesn’t think about it, because it's a weakness. The knights pat each other on the back, and sometimes they roughhouse for a bit. Arthur is above that, and he only does it when he really wants to cheer up one of his men. That’s initially what he wants to do to Merlin, too, when his idiot of a manservant’s face droops and he can’t quite make his smile meet his eyes. But he doesn’t, because the thought of touching Merlin—his lungs constrict, and there’s no reason for him to be touching Merlin, no excuse that would make it proper.
Touching Merlin would be because Arthur wants to, and he shouldn’t.
Or: Five times Arthur is a touch-deprived mess who really wishes he could touch Merlin without an excuse, and one time he learns he doesn't need one.

Robb hadn’t imagined that he’d get to the Dreadfort to find Theon gone, apparently rescued by some of his sister’s men who had been staying at Deepwood Motte, and Ramsay Snow swearing left and right that he hadn’t known that his father was planning on turning his cloak and telling Robb that he’d be more than glad to prove him that he surely was not thinking about serving anyone else.
Or: where Robb doesn't die at the Twins and has to rely on Ramsay Snow to find Theon again and close the betrayal matter once and for all, thinking that it's going to be pretty straightforward. He thinks wrong.
