In this AU, Chase is twenty years old and has gone on vacation with his friends (Simon, Ross, and Danielle) for the first time since his parents have passed. While on the pier in Panama City, Florida late one night for some peace and quiet, a mysterious stranger shows up and begins to talk with Chase and says he is a fan of his VidTub singing.

Summary
Upon looking for a quick cash grab to help out his mom, Chase gets the opportunity to test out the new VR horror game technology created by a company called Ex Libris- named after its extensive library of artificial intelligence software. He hopes to use this new, immersive tech to live out his popstar fantasies, but little does he know that doing this will lead to an experience that reveals the realities of being a blonde bombshell in a world that keeps shifting around his own intrusive thoughts in the worst ways possible, holding a mirror up to his own idolization. It doesn't take long before he realizes that he cannot simply escape whatever he's gotten himself into, and to help him along the way; an oddly familiar raven haired guy he may or may not have met last night. If only he could remember what happened last night...

There’s a bed in the loft, with a person in it. Nico didn’t think anyone would actually be living here, what the fuck? He creeps closer, curiosity outweighing his common sense, apparently, until he’s standing at the person’s bedside and - huh.
It’s a man. Probably about Nico’s age. His tan skin is blotted with freckles, and his pale eyelashes flutter minutely over rosy cheeks in his sleep.
Nico’s eyes dart to his hair - curly ringlets of gold - and then he lets out a sharp breath of shock as the man’s hair just keeps going. It winds next to him in the bed, and spills off the edge, pooling on the floor.
The pool of hair shifting over the floor is the only warning he gets before the base of a candlestick collides sharply with the side of his head.
