Wei Ying’s scandalized gasp could probably be heard three aisles over. The nerve of this alpha!
“You know nothing of me or my alpha, you have no right-”
“A mouthy little omega.” The alpha’s voice dropped, dark and warm. “If you were mine, I can think of several ways to keep you quiet.”
His sandalwood scent rolled through the aisle, thick and possessive. The low timbre of his words scraped over Wei Ying’s nerves, making his cheeks heat. The alpha’s golden eyes looked down, down, down at him through heavy dark lashes. His plush mouth stayed neutral, but the tick in his jaw betrayed tension.
Wei Ying’s omega surged upward, clawing at his restraint—urging him to drop the act, to give in, to take him, take what’s yours. But no. He couldn’t. He needed to hold the line, needed to make this convincing, no matter how fiercely his instincts fought to drag him the other way.
