"Toothless," Hiccup gasped. "We have to go. Now," As the rider got onto the back of his dragon, Toothless turned around, bounding through the row of cages. "Whoa!" the rider exclaimed. "What's gotten into you, bud?" The dragon paid no mind to what his rider said as he ran back to the cage that he was previously at. Toothless warbled, gesturing at the cage.
"What is it, bud?" Hiccup asked. "Is there another dragon in there?" The rider hopped off the dragon's back and approached the cage. A low growl came from its depths as two eyes glared back at him.
"Oh," he gasped softly. "Hey there. I'm sorry I didn't see you." He slid open the lock, slowly walking into the cage. The dragon growled as the human slowly approached it. "I'm gonna get you outta here." He raised his hand slowly, waiting for the dragon to come. "It's okay. I won't hurt you." As the growling slowly subsided, the dragon slowly moved from the shadows. As Hiccup was finally able to lay his eyes on her, he gasped.
"A night fury?"

Summary
Eight months.
That’s how long it had been since the Lumiose Incident. Old wounds had yet to heal, and Alain was just trying to find some form of peace despite the turmoil in his heart. But despite everything, trouble seems to always find its way back to him.
With new mega stones came rough mega evolution, a much larger and ancient problem emerged from the ashes of Lumiose’s destruction.
New friends, old enemies, a new league, and a mysterious plague haunting the mega pokemon. No one knows what’s really going on, but one thing is for sure.
Kalos is in danger.

Peace has returned to Gaia with the defeat of Omega. Everyone thought that the calm would last, at least for a while. But not even two months had passed before a new problem surfaced. Summoned beasts have been rampaning across Gaia and no one knows where they came from. Two groups fighting for control and no one knows why. And at the center of it are two people. No one knows who they are or where they came from and both of them have uncanny abilities that no one has ever seen. And yet, there seems to be a lot more to them than others realized. And with their appearance began a race. A race to capture those two people first, for whoever has them can control the outcome of the oncoming calamity.

Summary
Instead of dying on No Man's Land, or running away from reporters and Earth-brought soldiers for the rest of their lives, Vash and Knives wake up in the wastes outside Midgar on Gaia. And meet someone saying their "Mother" wants to see them.
Rather than let Jenova do what she wants, Vash would rather save lives, and while Knives isn't keen on helping him, he doesn't like the idea of humans being used by a "higher being" as her "children."
And Cloud? He just wants to kill the thing that's planning to kill his planet and played around with his mind for a while, and save his friend if he has the chance.
They all have something to learn from each other as they approach their end goals. Whether those goals come from the same place by the end of the tale is another matter entirely.
