Summary
He trailed off as he looked up and met her eyes. A beautiful deep brown with a smile lurking in them. Her skin was tanned but he could still make out dozens of freckles on her nose and her long blonde hair puffed out behind her, almost as if it were floating.
She was probably the most beautiful person Link had ever seen. And that was even before her bow-shaped lips widened with a toothy smile that made his cheeks warm up with a blush.
Now he couldn’t speak for reasons entirely unrelated to being an introvert.-
Or, Link goes on a trip by train, and meets someone he'll never forget

Summary
Link is a 42 year old career soldier with an unremarkable record and contemplating retirement when he unexpectedly draws the Master Sword. He suddenly finds himself on a path he is unprepared for where he must face his traumas, fight for Hyrule and fall in love.
This story is not set in any particular game universe, it is intended to be its own game, as it were.

Summary
All Link seems to be able to do is remember. The weight of the past clings to him and ghosts of what he's lost follow him everywhere. Physically, he's riding horseback alongside the Princess, watching the sun sink beneath the horizon- but his mind is somewhere a hundred years ago.
Or- Link's memories remind him of how he fell in love with the Princess of Hyrule.
