A low chuckle comes from his right, warming Shane’s stomach in a way he refuses to examine. Maybe he should see a doctor about these stomach issues. “If I want to hit you on purpose, I would do better job.”
Shane snaps his head around. “You’re insufferable.”
“You love it.”
“I actually don’t.”
“You follow me every shift.”
“That’s because you’re a hazard,” Shane scoffs, trying (and failing) to appear nonchalant.

Shane’s pulse jumps. “Stop.”
