However, before the amplifier can close around her neck, the squad is attacked by drüskelle and Alina is kidnapped. In captivity, the girl must learn what it really means to be Grisha.

Sturmhond rose slowly to his feet only to get back down and press his back against the railing. "And not the welcome I expected," he muttered, already reaching for his pistols.When the Hummingbird crashes it's not the First Army but Aleksander who finds Alina and her friends.
