“I’ve bought you dinner multiple times and you never took the hint,” he said, meeting Phoenix’s gaze at last.
“I- ah- I was only joking. I didn’t think you’d meant it like that-“ Phoenix tried to save the situation. Miles’s hand twitched nervously, as though he were itching to grasp his elbow.
“Did you… want me to mean it like that?” Miles asked.

Sweat stuck to the back of his shirt. Even the Hawaiian button down wasn't enough to get him in the right spirits. It was terribly humid tonight for some reason. The clock barely reached past nine but Ronaldo already considered going back to his hotel when a new figure slipped into the stool a few seats away from him and kept him frozen in place.
"Oh?" The man took his glasses as he met his gaze. He started speaking, but Ronaldo wasn't able to understand him and he panicked, heat rushing to his face.
"S-sorry. No English."
The man's face inexplicably lit up at his words. "Japanese?" The man clapped his hands as Ronaldo nodded. "You don't look Japanese at all! What's the matter, young man? Did your wife leave for the night? I heard Hawaii is a popular honeymoon destination for newlyweds."
Ronaldo's mouth opened and closed repeatedly as he floundered at what to say. He wasn't sure where to react first, the fact that the man spoke Japanese fluently despite his foreign face or the fact that he thought he was married.
"I'm not married. I'm alone."

“Do I – wh-what?” Yamada said, eyes wide, a red flush creeping up his neck. Aizawa’s heart sank.
“Do you have feelings for Iida?” Aizawa repeated, trying to keep his voice flat. “You said you loved him, earlier.”
“Oh!” Yamada huffed out a gentle chuckle, hand coming up to rub his neck “I mean, I don’t have romantic feelings for him, not like –I mean, I love him like a bro.”
“Oh.” Aizawa let out a breath he didn’t know he had been holding.
