Summary
Kaveh always wondered about that fateful night at Lambad's Tavern. It was where he was found by Alhaitham after all. They had been estranged for years after their massive fight. What cosmic prank brought them back into each other's existence that night?
Years later as roommates and entering an eventual courtship, Kaveh yearned for more as he felt something was missing. But felt he was to blame.
He found himself wondering at times many what-ifs. The biggest one of course being;
What if Kaveh never came home with Alhaitham? How would their lives shape themselves then?
Fate has a strange way of showing they listen, don't they?

"The world moved on, but not for Alhaitham.
It got to the point where it wasn't like he was purposefully waiting, but the years passed and buried him along with his feelings. It was more like he couldn't grasp the idea that the world could go on without Kaveh, and everything just stopped making any sense until the day they would meet again."
Where Kaveh falls into some ruins for a few days, and returns to find out that years have passed.

There was a book on architecture in the middle of the history tomes. It was a paperback, hidden in a corner and covered by a larger book. He only caught a glimpse of it out of the corner of his eye, yet that was enough to make him pause, his heart suddenly a cage for a bird desperate to escape. A blond-haired boy bent over the table, drawing absentmindedly with a soft smile on his lips. On the spine, a small castle drawn. This was one of the few books on aesthetics in architecture sold in Sumeru and, years ago, he had given it to Kaveh as a gift.
How had his book ended up in Sage Reza's office?
;; After Alhaitham and Kaveh fell out, Kaveh was kidnapped and brainwashed by the Sages to become nothing more than their personal pet. So, when the decision was made to send him to a kingdom he had never visited, to live among a court full of strangers, he accepted his fate willingly. If this sacrifice meant that his people would have homes with four walls to return to and food on their tables, he embraced it with open arms.
