Aizawa and Yamada knew the possibilities; they knew their third soulmate was younger than them; they knew their was a chance their third soulmate could reject the bond and not want them at all, and that’s okay.
But at the same time, all three of them knew one thing: no matter how things turned out, they would end up loving each other uncontrollably even if they never met each other.
Things can’t get that complicated, right?

In a breath, without time for his brain to question the decision, Tomura’s hand shoots out, four fingers snatching at the back of the boy’s school uniform before he can fall any further. It’s not enough, with the way Tomura has to keep his pinky raised, so he braces his own sneakers on the girder and uses his other arm to wrap around the boy’s waist, pulling him back into his now snug hiding spot.
It happens in a second, and for another few seconds they both sit there, panting.
The silence is broken when the boy reaches for his hand, to hold it, to thank him, to clutch desperately at another living person, Tomura isn’t sure but he doesn’t give the boy the chance, ripping his hand away. There isn’t enough room for him to unwrap his arm from around the boy’s waist though, not without them both falling.
The boy is still panting. “S-sorry,” he stutters over heavy breaths.
Tomura shakes his head, also panting. Not from exertion, in the grand scheme of things pulling the kid up didn’t take much effort, he doesn’t weigh much of anything, but from the adrenaline he thinks. Taking life, Tomura is very familiar with. Saving it? Not so much.
