He was just about to swing off when somebody behind him shouted.
“Daddy!”
Before Peter could even look to the source of the voice, there were tiny arms wrapped around his waist. He turned in the tight grasp and looked down to be met with the sight of a little girl, no older than six.
Peter held his arms out awkwardly, not quite sure what to do. He didn’t have much hands-on experience with children past a brief autograph, greeting, or picture. Now, there was a little girl hugging him, calling him her dad.
Parker Luck at its finest, because nothing like this would ever happen to anyone except Peter.
“Oh, uh…hi?” Peter squeaked out. He patted the girl’s head and squatted down so he could get to her level – it was hard to talk to people so much shorter than him. Was he even doing this right? He hadn’t made her cry yet, so that was a start.
“Do you need help finding your dad?” he asked her softly.
It’d definitely make more sense. Maybe she didn’t know where her dad was, saw Spider-Man, and figured he could help.
The girl only looked at him, her big brown eyes melting a part of Peter’s soul. She pointed a tiny finger at his chest. “Daddy.”Oh.
