"What is this?" Hakoda inquired curiously, taking the paper. Solok leaned his head close to get a look as well.
It was a wanted poster.
On it was the painted face of a rugged, angry-looking man who wore a fierce scowl. What looked like an ugly burn wound sat on the left side of his face, unfortunately large and evidently caused by a firebender. At the top of the paper, there was a prominent Fire Nation insignia, swirling in golds and reds.
Under the painting read 'Traitor to Sozen and our victorious nation. Wanted alive' and the listed reward for capturing the man.
A thousand gold pieces.
Hakoda blinked wide eyes at what he just read.
Bato grinned, dropping an arm around his shoulders. "This is our Tui and La given golden opportunity."

Summary
An AU where the Water Tribe are the imperialists attacking the Fire Nation.
Fire Lord Zuko is taken prisoner by Sokka during the invasion.
Sokka heard a rumor that he can acquire bending abilities if he (a non-bender) successfully bitches an alpha bender into an omega. Now he has his sights set on being the most powerful firebender in any nation and will do anything to make that vision a reality.
Note: all characters are the same age as they are in the newest movie because Fire Lord Zuko is hot af

“Kya?” He looked at the little girl. She was holding her arm close, dried tears and dirt on her face. Her voice was shaky when she spoke.
“Uncle Sokka.” she whined. The Omega looked even more freaked out then.
“Why do you have my niece?” Sokka asked calmly, never taking his eyes off Kya. If this was a kidnapping case, he had taken the young girl to the wrong damn hospital, because Omega or not, Sokka would beat this gorgeous Omega's ass and take the repercussions for doing so.

Summary
[Time passes oddly. Between one second and the next, Sokka has the Fire Lord pinned to the wall with his hands around the bastard’s throat. Golden eyes (one gold eye, his mind whispers) widen in shock.
“Sokka?” he chokes out. And then he smiles.
What the fuck?
“Sokka, I—”
Sokka slams his head against the wall, once, twice, and the smile wipes off his face. Good.
“What,” Sokka bites out, “have you done to my sister?”]
Or:
An injury leaves Sokka with amnesia. His last memory is of the failed invasion, of leaving his father behind in enemy territory on the Day of Black Sun. Of hopelessness. Rage.
But then he wakes up, and the war is over. Suddenly, he must come to terms with the fact that years have passed, and that he's somehow the Southern Water Tribe Ambassador to the Fire Nation. He is also supposedly friends with banished-Prince-turned-Fire-Lord Zuko, of all people. Close friends.
Yeah, nah.

Summary
When Zuko goes into heat less than a week after the Agni Kai, and in his delirium sobs out some very damning things against Ozai, Iroh realises that he cannot ever let Zuko return to the Fire Nation. He spends the next three years trying (and somewhat succeeding) in convincing Zuko that Ozai is a horrible father, and a horrible person.
Meanwhile, in the South Pole, Sokka and Katara awaken Aang three years early, and despite Sokka's inital misgivings, Aang brings a joy back to the village that's been gone ever since the last raid. He begins to trust this strange airbender, and even see him as family.
Everything is thrown into chaos when a scavenging trip to one of the fire nation wrecks in the ice fields ends poorly, and a tiny fire nation ship carrying a suspiciously not-evil firebender crashes into the wall of the village
