Kaveh used to think that Alhaitham had mastered the art of ignoring him. The man would remain unflappable as he continued to read his worn copy of The Origins of Enkanomiyan Language, even when Kaveh was a hair’s breadth away from shattering the windows of their house with his severity of pitch.
No amount of screaming, threats to throw things, or violently waving in front of him could get Alhaitham to pause in his thirst for knowledge. As it turns out, Alhaitham literally just turns his hearing aids off so he doesn’t have to listen to Kaveh.
It’s for this exact reason that Kaveh has decided to learn Sumerian Sign Language.

Summary
When video evidence of Marinette Dupain-Cheng actually pushing Lila Rossi down the stairs one Monday morning surfaces, it starts off a chain of events that Marinette would love to call one big cosmic joke.
In the wake of Hawkmoth’s defeat, there’s quite literally no akuma for her to blame a bizarre duplicate of herself on. With tensions mounting and accusations being thrown her parents opt to reach out to the biological mother who gave her up for adoption, if only to get her out of an increasingly hostile situation.
There’s just one problem with that: that being her biological mother is dead.
Luckily for her, her biological mother’s “friend”, Bruce Wayne, is willing to take her in and give her shelter in America away from anyone and everyone who knows her.
Yet when her duplicate follows her to a new country and starts causing her more problems, she’s forced to dig deeper into the strange mystery unfolding around her – and the answer to the matter isn’t quite as simple as she’d wish.

Owen had been drunk enough to be pleasantly swimming, eyes blinking languidly— he wasn’t going to turn down free wine, especially from the Goldsmith cellars. But at the sight of Pyro crawling into Scott’s lap with no sense of propriety, he had sat straight and cold and sober, heat rushing to his bloodless face and fingers tightening on his goblet.
Scott had looked… smug, was the only word for it, pulling Pyro’s head down to rest against his shoulder, and indulgently bringing his hand up to run through his fledglings dark hair. Owen found his eyes drawn helplessly to the motion, fingers cold and stiff where they were clenched on the goblet and the table surface, pupils dilated in the dim candle flicker light of the formerly grand banquet hall. Scott had made eye contact with him, his smile slow and sharp. A bare flicker of pointed white teeth flashed on his bottom lip as Pyro let out a content sigh and relaxed, half on Scott’s lap, and half tucked onto the grand chair Scott had positioned at the head of the table.

The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
