Luckily, Juniper Woods had been spared the worst of the blast, directly shielded by his (they pause and then say, tactfully, unwise) protective posture. She’d been left with enough strength of body and presence of mind to grab him after he collapsed.
Unluckily, this means that said “worst of the blast” exerted itself squarely on Apollo’s shoulders, and his back, and his arms, and a lot of his legs.
Five times that Apollo Justice lied about the scars he sustained in the courtroom bombing, and the one time he told the whole truth.
