Current 2026-27 Timeline :
29-year-old Scott Hunter signs a contract to be an Ottawa Centaur, but things never feel quite right, until he learns he has been brought in for the one thing the team knows they genuinely need, Ilya Rozanov. This is an alternate universe where Scott and Ilya are roughly the same age. Scott is not doing so great, and feels "impostor syndrome" daily. Ilya Rozanov loved hockey once, but enjoys his peace and solitude now even more. That is until his brother, from another mother, is finally out of the minors and into an NHL career he has deserved, except... everything seems very fishy and wrong-footed. And no one messes with Ilya Rozanov's family... no one.

Okay, maybe that sounded a bit passive aggressive, all things considered. It did not seem to bother Rose, though, as she answered right away:
"He's not gonna answer you."
"What? Why not?" Ilya asked, genuinely confused. Rude, he thought. His eyes went from Rose to Shane, his brows frowning.
"He just doesn't talk."
"Oh."
