Summary
"Can the twitch of a spider's legs change the course of a story?"
Martin Blackwood encounters the supernatural before he gets a job at the Magnus Institute. Used to having only spiders as his friends, he's surprised when he forms close bonds with Sasha, Jon, and Tim. Yet there's something bigger at play. Martin is already vaguely aware of this, but it becomes clearer after the four of them transfer to the Archives. Forced to face killer worms, apocalypse cults, and threats far too close to home, Martin ends up grappling with his humanity. If it's to protect his friends, what does it matter what he becomes? The silk calls to him, after all.

Until Marius von Raum shows up, of course. At least it’s just an alternate version of him, and not the very same prisoner who annoyed them for 8 years and then left them to die in the Bifrost.
