Hiding a 400-year-old demon in your room is fine. He doesn't look like he's going to hurt anyone. Maybe he's a good demon.

    Yeah. A good demon.

AU where demons have been acting *weird* since Gwi-Ma's defeat and Zoey can’t bring herself to kill the one that's just her type.

“So you do not have a family.”

It was a statement, not a question, but he still nodded.

“You have no name to align with your own.”

“The others at the palace had taken to referring to me as ‘The Son of Sisyphus’. I do not wish to be called that.”

He sounded pitiful, and yet there was still not any sign of that cursed emotion in her eyes. Instead there was something sharp and hair-raising about the way her pupils seemed to grow and then shrink the longer she looked at him.

    “You are alone.”

“I am alone. . .” he whispered, knowing she heard him. “I do not wish to be forever.”

At the age of twelve Odysseus is ripped from his home and stripped of his titles after narrowly avoiding execution by his own father's hands. Unable to find stability, his wanderings lead him to Sparta. There he meets Menelaus and, by the other prince's encouragement, agrees to compete for Helen’s hand for the sake of food and shelter. Unsure of what comes next, Odysseus only knows one thing: his struggles are far from over. . .

Inspired by the non-Homeric myth of Odysseus’s father being Sisyphus rather than Laertedes, and my own love for a certain song that introduced me to EPIC.

    Summary

The wind comes early, salt-laced and restless, tugging at the sails before the sun has fully risen. The sea is silver in the half-light, gleaming like a blade. A dozen black ships line the shore, each a beast of burden groaning under the weight of war—of spears and shields, of men too young and men already weary, six hundred in all. Horses stamp and snort. Armour glints faintly. The world smells of brine and bronze and things left unsaid.

And there is the horizon, wide and unblinking, where the gods keep their secrets.

Already, Ares drums his fingers against his shield. Athena watches from behind a veil of cloud, sharp-eyed and silent. Apollo cords his bow in the east. Even the Fates lean in, breathless. The heavens tilt toward bloodshed.

But the dawn stretches her fingers across the sky, rosy and pale, as though the morning itself hesitates—softening what must be done.

Odysseus steps forward. His cloak hangs from his shoulders, sword glinting beneath it at his hip. He looks impossibly far away already, though he hasn’t left yet.

But his eyes—his eyes are on her.

A dual-timeline look at Odysseus and Penelope—memory and absence side by side.

    Summary

"The second she opened her mouth to speak, Sophie knew, deep down, she would come to regret her words in the coming months, when reality hit and prevented them from becoming anything more than an impossible secret. Yet the look in his eyes, the warmth in her heart, and the tingle she still felt on her cheek persuaded her against her better judgement, and she reached forward towards Gideon’s chest.

    “Don’t apologize.”"
