Rey has only ever known the life of a slave on Jakku, bought and sold from master to master, but the mysterious and terrifying creature who now owns her is like no master she's ever had before.

The best fic I have ever read. It is also the slowest burn ever, but soooo worth it.
Lots of angst, character development and exploration, nuance, detail, layers, hints, twists, ups and downs, hurt/comfort, at least 1-2 bridal carries so far, gray morality all over the place, just... great work.
If you read things too quickly and feel like you're never immersed in the world/atmosphere of a good work long enough, this one is for you.

Summary
Ben Solo has been missing, presumed dead, for over ten years. While shopping for her son's birthday dinner, Rey sees a ghost from her past.
**She needed to raise her voice, turning all the heads in the aisle, as she called out to him before he disappeared. “You have a son!”
All the shoppers in their row were suddenly very intrigued by the spectacle. Ben stopped in his tracks as Rey took another few steps while she kept talking. “His name is Kit. He likes Pokemon and eats Honey Nut Cheerios every morning for breakfast.” Ben started to turn on his heel. “Your mom slips him candy bars that he thinks I don’t know about and he hides them at the bottom of his Lego box.” Ben faced her and Rey kept walking toward him. “He’s getting so tall, and I swear he outgrows his pants as soon as I buy them.” Rey couldn’t help but smile as she talked about their son. “And today’s his birthday. He’s ten years old."**

Fascinating, heartbreaking, sci-fi modern AU with time travel, time loops, romance, heartbreak, healing, etc. Something about this fic is so beautifully haunting. Very well written, and an almost ethereal atmosphere.

Summary
Since usurping the throne of Alderaan a decade ago, Emperor Snoke has banned the use of magical powers within the kingdom. Only Snoke himself and his elite Imperial Guard are allowed to wield magic for their own cruel, destructive ends.
Rey is an orphan of Snoke's war of conquest and survives as a scavenger in the wastes of Jakku. The threat of death for using illicit magic is no concern of hers - until it is.
Kylo Ren, the most fearsome of all of Snoke's masked warriors, sees something in Rey she'd rather he didn't. To protect her from Snoke, he hides her away in his abandoned ancestral home, teaching her how to wield the powers she barely understands. Rey's lonely - until she starts being visited at night by the mysterious Ben, whose face she can never look upon, but whose soul shines to her despite the darkness...

If I say this story has magic, dragons, a magical library, a hidden island, and a cursed prince among other things, it's going to sound like some typical fantasy-medieval-magic story.
But this is just... really really good. There's magic, but it works more like the Force than anything else, there are no cauldrons... there's only one dragon actually in the story and just sort of a side thing.
IDK it's hard to describe, but this is one of the best Reylo fics I've read. Touching, well developed characterizations, angst, struggles, character arcs, etc.
