Summary
Spock and Jim both have their doors. Jim wants his to be open. Spock wants his to be closed.
An alternative STID thing. With more literature. And esoteric faffing. And sex.

"Oh, Spock." Her eyes were very dark, and very clear. "Every love story is a potential grief story. That's the whole point"

Summary
James T Kirk is one of the most celebrated authors in the federation. His novel, Desert Lemons, has won multiple awards and is often taught as part of college curriculums. Including that of Spock, literature professor at Georgetown University.
James T Kirk is one of the few survivors of a tragedy that shook the federation over a decade ago, although 'survivor' may not be the correct term.

Bookmarker's Notes
"Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die." -

Summary
In his first year in command of the USS Enterprise James T. Kirk must gel his new team together, adapt to his abrupt change in status over his friends, and deal with falling for his first officer. And, of course, there's always someone out to threaten the galaxy.
Note: Beta-read by the wonderful waketosleep. This was written in 2009-2010, and thus pre-dates Into Darkness. It was only pointed out to me recently that I neglected to upload it here for some reason. Also, since writing this I have spent two years living in the US so I have taken the opportunity to correct some of the lingering Britishisms. Please feel free to prod if you spot any leftovers!

Summary
The one night stand Jim Kirk has with the Vulcan passing through Riverside is a welcome break from the monotony. It's good, very good, but so fucking weird Jim's sure he's never gonna forget it. He's not quite expecting to run into Spock again in San Francisco. A second one night stand turns into a weekend, turns into a lot of weekends, turns into Bones joking that he's living half his week at Spock's apartment.
But! But, and this is very important: they're not dating.
What also turns out to be important is Spock's job, which Jim never bothered getting the details of. Starfleet Officer and a bartender-slash-bouncer? That's fine. Starfleet Academy Instructor and cadet? ...Less fine.

Summary
There is never any sneaking around in the dimly lit corridors of ship’s night, or discreet Vulcan kisses in the nooks of engineering.
Unless Jim is incredibly tired, or stressed, there are no lingering looks on the bridge, either.
The stakes are far too high.
ORAdmitting to each other that they are in love is not an issue. The problem is revealing it to everyone else.
This is how Jim and Spock’s relationship would be if Starfleet actually enforced fraternization regulations.Bookmarked by Loyvu
