“Rumi this is stupid.” The winged hero gripes as his friend drags him down the block, they were getting strange looks from the creatures in the shadows, he didn’t believe in this shit his friend did. “Fortune telling is a bunch of bullshit.”
“No no Kei!” Rumi grins as she tugs him along. “This guy’s the real deal, you remember that date I had, with the brunette lady, he said to wear my burnt red sweater, half up hair style, and guess what!” She tugs him up to walk side by side. “I got a second date this weekend! He’s the real deal!”
Keigo groans. “I’ll believe it when I see it. My only night off for the month and this is what I’m doing with it. Getting my fortune told. What a way to pass the time.”
The come up to the front of a small shoppe, dark curtains pulled over the windows, it’s not very noteworthy, Keigo decides, there’s no name on the window for advertisement or anything on the beaten up door. This leads him to wonder how his friend found this fraud.

The feather was the only thing he had to connect him to his older brother, it had shown up on his pillow one morning, it woke him up by brushing over his nose. This red feather was his most prized possession, if he lost it, he’s not sure what he’d do if he lost it.
See, they weren’t allowed to be together, he was a half-brother, and with a weak healing quirk at that. Kei became Hawks, Izuku stayed Izuku, and they hadn’t acknowledged each other’s presence for years. It wasn’t that they didn’t want to, he got gifts on his birthday, merch would show up in his room, he was even sent a debit card once. It was that they weren’t allowed to. The Commission didn’t want their most valuable asset to have contact with his past, he wasn’t Takami Keigo anymore, he was the hero Hawks.

Eleven year old Izuku has had the worst day of his life.
Kacchan was in a bad mood today and when Kacchan’s in a bad mood things are so much worse.
His backpack is burnt to a crisp.
His new notebook that he just started with Hawks is ruined, singed and soaked, he’d be lucky if he could salvage any of it.
Izuku just wants to go home, get a hug from his mom, clean himself up, and crawl into bed. In that order. He wants nothing more. Just that. Those four things.
“Mom, I’m ho—” His eyes meet the gold eyes of the number nine hero Hawks, sitting on his couch, watching a random show on Food Network. “Mom! Why is Hawks staring at me!”
“Oh honey,” Inko calls from the kitchen. “This is Keigo. He’s your new brother. How was school?”
