It's bad to lose focus when fighting on a crusade.
It's unfortunate to lose balance above a trap.
It's pitiful to succumb to such an obvious trap.

Summary
The Lamb has certainly faced harder challenges. They've toppled gods. And they even have an advantage here: all the years of experience and the many different spouses they'd had before Narinder properly came into their life kicking and screaming. They've taught him a lot since they married (and they mean a lot), and he's just as fierce a competitor in general as they are, but he'll always be less experienced than them.
They've got this. Easy. They can't think of any reason not to take him up on the offer.
(They're aware that maybe they're using the wrong head for reason. But despite what they tell the flock, "divine" isn't necessarily the same thing as "perfect".)

Summary
It was already well established to Lambert that Narinder had anger issues, one thing they did not anticipate with this was the sheer amount of fights that would break out in their cult because of this fact. Sure, they had followers that came in with fists flying, sometimes paired with knives, but that was normal. Maybe they had the occasional building that got burned down because someone decided that slamming another follower into a lit torch was the most sensible thing to do in a quarrel. However, that didn’t stop them from grimacing every time someone came running with blood dripping down their face and a very angry black cat, usually yelling obscenities, running after them.
or
5 times Narinder fights someone and the 1 time Lamb does it for him!
I didn't tag the Bishops who didn't directly speak, but they are around the cult! Also: This is directly based off of my own save file, just with a little extra drama thrown in, there will be more context about it at the end notes as well as some fun facts if you are interested! (This is TECHNICALLY my only work on this account, but it sure as hell isn't my first time writing, I just didn't want to have my old stuff still up lmao)

Still, Lamb’s heart beats with something like fear as they approach the altar, with the cracked stained glass beyond coloring the whole place a welcoming red.
Lamb hesitates a final time, before giving in and getting to their knees.
“Thae One who Waits, praise be thy name.”

Summary
Nari was always treated as above the average follower. As above what even disciples were to the Lamb. And yet, he cannot figure out why the Lamb favors him this much.
He's just a simple black cat with an eye deformity on his forehead and the Lamb never gives him answers of value. He doesn't think of himself as particularly important or divine...
...he thinks he's forgetting something. And that he's not the only one.

Summary
Time flows in a river, fates spun and connected with a thread. The water never flows the same way twice, yet always follows the same path. The threads twist and tangle, and yet they never break. In a world if infinite possibilities, who's to say what would happen if two souls meat earlier than intended?
Or: an extremely indulgent AU where the Lamb was born at the beginning of the five Bishop's reign.

Summary
Groggily, Narinder awoke.
His limbs felt stiff and sore, face involuntarily scrunching up at the uncomfortable, unfamiliar feeling in his legs and arms. He’d groaned quietly, yet the noise forced his eyes to shoot open in surprise.
That hadn’t been his voice.
Looking down at himself in horror at the revelation, Narinder quickly noticed he’d somehow took the form of the Lamb.
——
E rated Body swap shenanigans. These two are down bad and horny for each other, but refuse to talk their tension out.
Also Narinder gets to show off his great leader skills, for once.

Summary
The lamb was a lot of things. After knowing them for over a hundred years, Narinder was fully aware of what laid behind those eyes. Or so he thought.
It started with a bell around his neck, and slowly become a game of manipulation that they both tried to play with unfair rules.
Narinder should have known... he would lose.

Summary
In the aftermath of the final battle, some things have survived or grown stronger; others are left in ruins. The damned Lamb and Narinder, respectively. At first, the two of them are under the impression that the damage is all internal, between themselves and the cult the Lamb has stolen. The impression doesn't last long: there is movement in the Lands of the Old Faith, and that which moves in the dark is rarely friendly.

Summary
They take a moment to consider him. They didn't think, at this point, that they'd ever again have to make an example of a spouse that was getting a little too comfortable taking liberties with their grace. In hindsight, that was silly of them. Narinder remembers living the selfish existence of a god. He still loves like one, in many ways. But that time is past.
It does give them some good ideas, though. The Lamb, too, knows how to love like a god.

Summary
“Names have power,” the god examines them passively, the claw on his thumb playing idly with the bell on their collar. “Why do you believe it is that you cannot recall your own, vessel?”
The One Who Waits can feel ten different emotions crashing over them at once, and for a moment the careful construction of their features breaks under the weight of despair.
Interesting. It is knowledge the host of divinity should already be privy to, as an extension of his own will. The death of identity in service of a higher power is something few will ever have the privilege to experience, not even his past vessels were granted such a right.
Admittedly, none of his former vessels came to him in death. Sacrifices must be made, and made willingly, to build the trust and steadfast devotion needed for his ultimate freedom. The Chained God knows now he’s been too lenient, but such oversights will be corrected shortly.
This next part he wants to savor.

Summary
'The Lamb' is a myth. Narinder is certain of this; he's spent his life wandering the Lands of the Old Faith, just to stay alive, so if anyone would have seen them it's him. Twenty-six years is such a long time to be alive, after all. Surely he's seen everything.

Stuck inside during an unanticipated snowstorm, Narinder and the Lamb resort to playing Knucklebones, and it goes... weird. Then the Lamb gets melodramatic. Thankfully, not everyone is content to leave it at that.
