His blood ran cold. The realization hit them like ice spreading through his veins. This was wrong. It was all wrong. The shift had already passed, and yet they were still here, trapped in the same nightmarish dimension they had suffered through for the past year. The weight of it settled in his chest, thick and suffocating, like an unseen force had clenched around his lungs.

“I can sing it with you if you want.”
Tyler looked up, eyes wide from where he was fiddling with the chewed-up strings of Aiden’s hoodie. “What?”
“I said, I can sing it with you. I know the song.”
Tyler just looked at her, almost in disbelief. Ashlyn? Singing?
Ashlyn crossed her arms, looking away. “Look, I’m probably not the best singer but I just thought it would help. I can just go back inside–”
“No!” Tyler said, reaching a hand out before retracting it. “Sorry. No, yeah, that… that sounds good. It would help a lot, I think.”
Ashlyn nodded, biting the inside of her cheek.
“...Are you gonna play, or…”
“Right, sorry,” Tyler breathed out, hesitant.
Tyler picked up his guitar, clearing his throat and repositioning himself as he began to strum again. The melody was crisp, ringing out into the cold setting sun. As the first set of lyrics began to near, he looked up at Ashlyn, as if to let her know.
A part of him was still kind of shocked when Ashlyn actually began to sing.
Or, the gang finally convinced Tyler to play them a song, and Tyler's nervous.
