I’ve been rescued.
He tightens his limbs against his body. He feels the scrape of his bare heel as it catches the soft fibers of the bedsheets. He listens to the air recycler, surging and ebbing at regular intervals. The cool breeze feels almost too decadent. The temperature is ideal. His bed is comfortable. If he wants for anything, he knows Qui-Gon will come in a matter of moments. He has been given his life back. Eventually the memory of the cell and its blank black pain will fade. This must be true.

Nearly two years had passed since Obi-Wan’s knighting, yet Qui-Gon struggled with the new definition of their relationship. He especially chafed at the distance, but he understood the life of a new Knight was hectic, and seldom allowed the time or space for correspondence with old teachers."
Qui-Gon shares tea with Knight Kenobi, who has made a rare return to Coruscant between missions.

In the immediate aftermath of Cerasi's death, Nield allows Obi-Wan to be attacked.
Qui-Gon takes Obi-Wan back as his apprentice, but struggles to trust him and return to how their bond used to be. Obi-Wan hides what happened to him on Melida/Daan and tries to push it all down. He only cares about mending his relationship with Qui-Gon.
