Summary
He had been so focused on carving his mask, avenging his brother, concealing his anger and resolution behind his fan, behind crocodile tears and headshakes, that he had long ago become numbed with romance, a notion that seemed to belong to youthly concerns and erotic books, but had no place in his current reality. The young Jin sect disciple was so lonely, so left out, so smitten that it would have been easy for anyone to take advantage of his affection-starved nature.
Falling in love with Mo Xuanyu wasn’t part of the plot.

“In Yunping, Yunmeng province, Young Master.”
“I see. Is this your house?”
“I guess you could say that.”
“Are you a merchant?” Lan Xichen gave an eye at the books. Some of them looked like accounting records.
“In a way.”
“What do you sell?”
Meng Yao blushed again. Realising he had hit a soft spot, Lan Xichen wanted to withdraw his question, but before he could say anything more, the young man dropped,
“This is a house of pleasures, Young Master Lan.”

Summary
Sometimes, as the winds of Narragansett Bay whip at his cold-flushed face and aching hands, Levi wonders how life has led him here. Here: atop four winding flights of stairs, seventy-three feet in the air, polishing a fifty year old light bulb several times larger than his head.
His predecessor had complained about the loneliness while showing him around the place. Told him it makes you go mad. Levi doesn’t mind it though. In fact, he finds the isolation oddly comforting. In the middle of the ocean there are no generals or foremen screaming at him to get back to work. There are no sly insults on his stature, or reprimands regarding his attitude. Atop Whale Rock there is only steel, stone, and the occasional seabird cawing overheard.

After being dishonorably discharged from the military, the slowly dying Levi Ackerman takes a job as a lighthouse keeper just off the coast. Content in his isolation, (aside from the occasional visit from supply-boatman, Hange) he resolves to spend the rest of his days on the sea tending to the light.
It's only when a retired, one-armed navy man arrives to serve as a fellow keeper, that Levi has to reconsider if there's something he's been missing.

Summary
The gravity of the whole conversation strikes Levi then. It weighs him down with vulnerability and emotions he’s not equipped to handle. Erwin’s offering him something he’s never held before, something he doesn’t know that Erwin’s ever even offered before.
“Okay..” Levi settles back into sheets. He lets Erwin peel their clothes off, one article at a time, and then rolls onto his side. Erwin pulls him in for another kiss.
It’s easy, like this, for Levi to relax. The voices have retreated to a hushed corner in his mind, leaving him to bask in Erwin’s attention, uninterrupted. Erwin’s kisses are serene, with little flicks of his tongue and docile fingers tracing the slope of his spine. Tension seeps from Levi’s muscles, he feels unbound — malleable. Everything is saccharine, as though he’s been dipped in golden honey with the way Erwin devours him in the most tender way possible. He has to hold onto Erwin, twist his fingers in pale blonde locks and grip sun-kissed skin. If he could, he’d carve both of them open, pry both of them apart at the seams, just to stitch them back together with a curved needle and silken thread.
