Summary
The cultivation world suddenly one day wakes up to find any trace of spiritual energy has disappeared. Their golden cores are now just empty shells with no trace of power. Every cultivator is hysterical. Without their qi, they are now just ordinary people.
In Gusu Lan, things aren’t calm either. The Gusu elders are at a loss of what to do and the disciples can do nothing but wait anxiously. With every cultivator’s spiritual energy taken, hope is dwindling, the oppressed population with originally no cultivation are now standing up for themselves, and fierce corpses are now undefeatable.

As the only ones with the ability to still cultivate, they are entrusted by the cultivation world to solve this issue.
With no choice, Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji now have to solve this situation quickly before everything goes to hell. Luckily, a faraway Sect isolated from the cultivation world might hold the answer to all their problems.
