"Izuku, who's this?" All of Inko's mothering instincts are on high alert as she studies the lanky boy beside her son. He looks tired. Hungry, too. And he keeps looking over at Izuku rather than meeting my eyes.
"Oh, this is Shinsou," Izuku replies, beaming per usual. "I mentioned him to you over the phone a few times. He's the one who just switched into our class. Is it alright if he sleeps over tonight?"
"Of course, sweetheart," Inko says, but her eyes remain on the boy. He needs more than a place to stay tonight. He needs a mother. And that's what I'll be for him.
