Summary
Harry has just turned twenty-five, and as always on Halloween, something strange finds him. This time, it comes as a choice, though whether it is truly a choice or simply another consequence of his saving-people thing, he cannot tell. A new world waits, filled with ghosts of his past and familiar faces that are not the same.
Offered a chance to “find home” by fate itself, Harry cannot help but question why him, and why now. After everything he has endured, optimism feels distant, almost foolish. Yet how can he not agree when the offer is laid before him, and so he is sent forward regardless, into a life that is not his own and a war that refuses to wait.
As Harry navigates this world, he is forced to confront whether fate can truly be changed or whether some paths can only be bent, never broken, while also discovering what it means to find something like home.

His nostrils flare, eyes fixed on the movement of the twitch in Abbot’s face, right under his eye and above his dimple, as he adjusts his headset. He always noticed that stupid muscle. Like it wanted to jump out of his skin.
