“I think Eddie's into me,” he'd confided in Robin one night when they were both lying in his bed and it was late and they were tired but sleep would mean nightmares and so they both stayed awake.
And Robin had shifted next to him, her head resting against Steve's shoulder, until she could peer up at his face in the darkness.
“How do you feel about that?” she'd asked, careful and quiet.
“I don't know,” he'd said, because he didn't.
Steve didn't know how he felt about it, what he was supposed to do about it, if he was supposed to do anything, and so he'd done his best to simply carry on as if Eddie wasn't falling in love in front of his very eyes because Steve let him.Series

The train door slams closed. Steve didn’t even know they could slam.
He blinks his eyes open and tries to adjust to the dark of his cubby. He should’ve flown, but the prices were high and his funds were limited. The train was the next best option besides bus and that would’ve taken twice as long.
He did splurge a little for a solo cubby instead of sharing. He didn’t want to share with a stranger.
“May I help you?” He asks the intruder, who is cursing under his breath as he shoves his shoes off and digs through his backpack.
