After a breakup, Sirius is left with a couple’s ski retreat and no one to go with. Naturally, he decides to take his strictly platonic bestie Remus along instead.

Summary
It’s a Friday afternoon. On Fridays, Sirius goes to the pub with his friend James. James sometimes brings his wife along, and sometimes just countless pictures of his son. Sirius sees the kid at least twice a week but still he looks at each photo as if it were a great treasure.
Remus goes in fifteen minutes after them, sometimes half an hour. Sometimes he doesn’t go in at all and sits in his car instead, waiting for the bartender to call last orders. Twice he felt brave and sent a drink to Sirius’ table, but left before it was delivered. Both times the bartender told him the same: this is a pub, mate. You want to talk to him, go talk to him, I ain’t doing table service.

The colours are different. The red is gone completely, the yellow stronger and brighter - a sun, a blaze. The nuance of thoughts and feelings replaced with the most straightforward: you, the dog thinks. My person.
The dog used to know a wolf. The dog used to know a stag. The dog used to know a…
(The human mind is strong enough to erase the last part. The dog remembers comradery and love, but the human knows those were a trick.)

Summary
Regulus Black fell in love. He lived in bliss, finally free from his overbearing family and the pressures of the mainland, on a small island off the coast. But his relationship ended with angry words in the middle of one of the worst storms of the century.
He's moved on from that now, made a career for himself as a writer. He's reconnected with his brother, adopted a few cats, and is finally settling into life without his lover — beyond the betrayal.
When he receives an email asking for his help, he decides to go back to the island where his heart got broken. Instead of finding closure, he discovers that James Potter never actually left… and there less than normal reason behind his harsh words.
