Summary
With just a bit of prodding from a comforting influence, Hawthorn decides to poison the vile Queen Wasp instead of connecting her to a floral hive mind.
The LeafWings win the Tree Wars with obedient dragonbite vipers and empowered leafspeak, and the HiveWings are decimated until they vanish from society.
Many years later, the SilkWings enjoy a rich and bountiful existence, as long as they always remember to be thankful and pay tribute to the benevolent LeafWings who stopped the pugnacious HiveWings from cutting and burning down every tree in Pantala, and created a wondrous society that is nearly one with nature.
And yet, a small group of bright dragons seek out their own answers, and confront the looming peril of endless harmony… and the rot of stagnation.

Summary
In one twist of the timeline, five iconic dragonets of Jade Mountain were chosen by happenstance and thus hatched earlier, under the brightest night, during the SandWing succession crisis.
Kestrel falls trying to retrieve the SkyWing of Destiny, same for Asha and the MudWing of Destiny. Thus, Hvitur, Dune and Webs are forced to adapt to an already fractured prophecy.
And so, Winter, Qibli, Kinkajou, and Turtle, led by the far-seeing, thrice-moonborn Moonwatcher, set out on a path to bring light to the tribes shrouded in darkness and beyond.

Summary

A MudWing struggles to stay optimistic when her bigwing’s laziness forces her to step up and act as her troop’s gatherer, healer, treasurer, communicator, and deputy all in one beleaguered package.
A SandWing joins Princess Burn’s army to avoid being a dragonet caretaker, and he inevitably becomes a dragonet caretaker (and a cook) due to his war wounds, following his friend Six-Claws to the Scorpion Den and the Outclaws, and later, the Talons of Peace.
An IceWing, an introverted, minor noble with a more outgoing brother, struggles to climb the ranks of the gift of order, and is forced to make a terrible choice in order to reach the First Circle before his seventh hatching day.
And a SeaWing fumbles his way through life, meets a crush and a rival on the same day, and gets dragged into said rival’s crazy scheme to end the SandWing Succession Crisis with the help of a prophecy.
Five dragons, five guardians, five tales of chance and fate, intertwined.

The Universe could've definitely picked a better group.

Summary
My skin writhed under the footsteps of miniature beasts, the flat geography of skin molded by the thousands of bites I was receiving. It hurt. Of course it did, a feature not helped by the general ick and disgust I already fostered with the tampons alone. A thousand blisters imbued with what felt like the heat of a star. I just wanted to have control, to leave. I just wanted it to STOP.
The collective buzz, a harsh drone, abruptly silenced. The now familiar coating of insects began to peel off, the larger clumps of a now dead hoard cold whenever they brushed my skin on the way to rest on my shoes. A whimper managed to find itself crushed between the two halves of a scream.
Or
Taylor, helpless and afraid, receives a different power, one accompanied by a mysterious voice.
Or
Taylor is forced down the road to hell a lot quicker when her mind hosts the consciousness and powers of someone like Darkstalker.

Summary
There’s not a rule book for this. Falling in love with four different dragons, none of whom belong to your own tribe. There’s no easy way to do it either, no path forward that doesn’t have at least a few stumbles, a couple obstacles. But it’s fun. It’s warm. It’s beautiful and spontaneous and magical. So they’ll write the book and pave the road, whatever may come, together.
