Summary

Marco’s a good kid. Hardworking, and clearly experienced with work on a pirate ship. He was brave enough to request Gol D. Roger for safe passage to Sabaody on a pirate ship, but smart enough to stick with them when his father—probably dead—is late to show. Rayleigh sees a lot of himself in Marco. In ten, twenty years, he has no doubt Marco would be a feared pirate.
Rayleigh just didn’t expect the kid to be outsmarting him now.

Contrary to popular belief, having your father adopt any idiot he comes across does not automatically lead to peace and harmony as a thousand-strong crew. It feels like the water only ever stills when Whitebeard’s about to throw another boneheaded rookie in to disrupt it. Then everyone goes to Marco to whine about how they don’t want another brother. And this brother is clearly too much of a handful. And can’t you talk to Pops, Marcooooo.
The crew is a powder keg on a good day, but like hell is Marco going to let Portgas D. Ace be the thing that sets it off.

"It did, actually," Harry says.
Sirius stares.
"Well, not for long," Harry says. "Clearly, it didn't last."
Sirius makes a distressed noise. "What's next? Was Voldemort there too? Watching with popcorn?"
Harry brightens slightly, and Sirius already regrets asking.
