As her village's customs went, Nancy, as a girl, was always meant to be a housewife. That meant subjecting herself to a man, having children and having absolutely no freedom. There was no way she was going to stand for something like that! She'd much rather join the boys on their hunting trips, where she could explore the forest without someone telling her what to do.
She never would've expected that on her first solo hunt, she'd encounter a god of the very forest she had expected to control.
