Suddenly Parker and O'hara were chatting about work and some trivial things while having round after round of drinks, they had moved to one of the couches in the bar to be more comfortable, one of Miguel's arms in Parker's shoulders, their legs brushing "by the way Miguel, can I ask you something?" asked the older man, the truth was that Miguel was not capturing much of what his companion was saying, the only clear thing at the moment was his desire to have Peter, so he just looked away from the man's lips and nodded " take your shot" Miguel said, "what are your fangs for?"

Peter figures he owes Miguel if nothing else. For giving him some kind of sense of direction and purpose again. So, does sidling up to him out of the blue and telling him, "Oh, hey, guess who I saw this weekend in an alternate universe? Yourdeaddaughterumokaybye" count as doing something for him? Or was that just more trauma? Trauma by way of buy-one-get-one-free, he thinks.
And he’s pointedly not going to think about the way he also kind of wants to open that wound. To pull back two curtains of flesh and finally take a look around inside Miguel’s chest. What else is in there, outside of shattering loss? A man or just an assemblage of pain?

Peter struggles, and the hand around his throat tightens. He gasps for air.
"I heard you've been looking for me," that same voice rasps.
A traitorous wave of arousal rakes through him when a claw, previously holding him down by his ribs, drags itself up his stomach and chest. The fabric there rips, and it comes to rest below his chin, tilting his head up.
Peter pants, "I'm going to kill you."
"Go ahead. Try."
