This is an unfortunate turn of events for Mr Bridgerton. A worse thing could not have happened to a better person. And one must wonder how the world will react to this terrible stumble by Miss Thompson. He replied immediately.

My heart broke for my friend. He hated Lady Whistledown, the persona, and everything she represented. She was the reason for our breakup.
