Phil will stay around. He will stay even when the grey cloud is persistent and angry. He will stay a consistent presence, right there next to Dan, when all he does is stare into space. He will stay when Dan is okay and their days are filled with giggles and video games, and when they lose hours of an evening to one another.
Phil and Dan are made up of bits of each other, after all. They are a complicated puzzle so irrevocably fucked up that it could never be completed by another person, and that’s just how they like it.

Dan and Phil have fallen apart and come together a thousand times.
However, Dan can't help but think there is something a little bit different this time. And his piano echoing around the silence of the flat doesn't help quiet his brain in the absence of Phil.

Summary
Phil sighs, and does what every sensible person would do, after being abandoned by their partner of thirteen years because it’s “the best for him”.
He opens Grindr.
He finds some buff guy named Hank who put in a selfie in a fitness studio, posing in front of a mirror to show off sweaty biceps. His bio says “I don’t do that pronoun shit, I do protein”, and Phil knows he’s perfect.
Dan breaks up with Phil. Phil decides to try and get him back the unconventional, yet effective route (Rage-Baiting).

What a read omg. I was scared to get into it a first. It was so long and what do i know about video games?! I googled fall whisperer as soon as i read it and it took me an embarrassing amount of time to realize it was made for the fic. I was more and more impressed with the game and story as i read. It was so detailed i feel like i played it myself. The part of the story where (and it may have happened the whole time but in the second half where i noticed) it would go from an irl situation and elaborate on it in game. Idk its fricking brilliant. I dont have words for this but i loved it.
