    Summary

Jon and Martin have landed in their somewhere else - a strange town called Nightvale, where the moon is beautiful, the desert is hot, and the scientists are even hotter. But it’s not all easy going. For example:
    - Why are the neighbors sending them creepy cookies?
    - What is a “Glow Cloud”?
    - Why does Jon suddenly feel weird about his body, and more importantly, the fact he’s a guy?
    - And how do you find a “normal” when all you know is strangeness?

This is wonderful. I feel like - the author understood the Vast and from my own very Vast-aligned perspective this is gorgeous.

A bunch of oneshots about what shenanigans Jon would get up to if Beholding had been so kind as to let him speak to animals.

Assorted adorableness featuring Jon, various random animals, the Archive Assistants, and a friendly Avatar Crew - Mike, Michael, and Jude Perry of all people. Includes Michael my-existence-is-psychoactive The Distortion, a very exploded Circus of the Other, and various critters scolding Jon about his utter lack of self-preservation instincts.

    Bookmarker's Notes

This is SO GOOD. It's - a world that is fundamentally just a tiny shade softer than the actual Magnus Archives, most of which is just small ripples from the people being different people - but even in a horror setting, small ripples grow. I strongly recommend the podfic that's on Youtube - I'm not usually a podfic person but I loved this one, and I feel like it really meaningfully add something. I'm bookmarking this mostly so I don't lose it, but - if anyone does see this, I strongly recommend it.

    Summary

The Eye Knows and Sees all, but it cannot understand. That’s what the Archivist is for, to experience, understand, and archive terrible knowledge and fear, and filter that back to the Eye. If Jonah Magnus is the Pupil of the Eye, then Jonathan Sims is the brain that processes what the Eye and Pupil see, for the Beholding does not possess the neural pathways required to feel, let alone understand, fear. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on who you ask) that is about to change.

What happens when a knowledge-seeking entity that cannot think is directly linked to a (lonely, stubborn, morally strict, self-deprecating) human who thinks plenty enough for the both of them?

    Or:
the Beholding gains sentience and promptly realizes: life is unfair and existence is pain, but at least it has its funky little Archivist.

Jon, freshly woken from a six-month coma, gains a loyal, if annoying, companion during his lowest point.

Beholding is *adorable.* And has some things to learn but it's getting there!
