Defeat after defeat in every single one of his sparring matches, Jaune’s self-esteem and confidence plummeted whilst his bitterness and hatred towards himself rose. Cardin’s taunts and jeers certainly didn’t help in that regard. His partner did her best to train him, truly she did, but he just wasn’t improving fast enough in his eyes. Such was his self-loathing, that when his semblance finally emerged during a sparring match, something else came with it. It was his instincts, but it was wild, uncontrollable – dangerous. And it demanded only one- nay, two things from Jaune. The first, to be the strongest huntsman in the entirety of Remnant. And the second… is to get a girlfriend.
