“My quirk came in Mama!” The boy cheered, oblivious to the way his mother's eyes darkened as she hesitantly smiled.“That's great, Mischa.” The woman said while plastering a smile on her face, crouching down to cup her son's hands in her own.
Mischa gazed up at his mother with stars in his eyes, a blinding smile erupting on his face. “This means I’ll be able to be a strong hero!”
The boys' mother could only watch with despair in her eyes as her son danced across the room, punching the air with pure joy written across his face. She knew the fate of children gifted with desirable quirks, strong quirks. Heroic quirks.
And she knew she couldn’t protect her son from that same fate.
