So, take a deep breath for me and calm the fuck down.” Buck practically growls in his ear, his voice deep and commanding.
After his third or fourth deep breath, he’s feeling lighter, freer even. He feels Buck smirk against his ear before he whispers, “Good boy,” right in Eddie’s ear and slips his headset back on his head. Buck steps back, letting his touch linger on his waist for just a moment as he releases his hold on Eddie, but his words are ringing in his ears.
Good boy. Good boy. Good boy.

When Head Coach of the Los Angeles Chargers, Eddie Diaz, gets heated on the sidelines, his ‘get back’ coach, Assistant Coach Evan Buckley is in charge of holding him back from the field of play. Buck's mind goes blank: suddenly and perfectly blank like a briskly shaken Etch A Sketch, the tracks of his thoughts swept clean. Eddie's mouth is on his. Eddie's nose bumps his nose, and his stubble rasps, and Eddie is kissing him.
And this is probably a bad idea.
The thought surfaces briefly. This is probably a bad idea. They don't do this. They haven't talked about this. Until thirty seconds ago, he was perfectly certain that Eddie was straight.

Summary
Things flow uncharacteristically seamlessly for Eddie over the following weeks. He eventually manages to only feel the need to check in on Christopher once each shift, twice if he’s on a double. Buck feels like part of the family so fast it makes Eddie’s head spin a little, especially when he comes home and Buck is waiting with a home cooked meal and stories of what he and Christopher got up to that day.

The door swings open, as a man’s voice snaps “What?”
“It’s great that you and your girlfriend have such a good sex life,” Eddie starts, “Good for you, but are you aware that you have neighbors? I honestly don’t care what you do, but your room is right up against my kid’s, and I do not want him hearing the two of you going on all night like that, okay?”
“Oh god,” comes a low, appropriately horrified voice, and Eddie actually bothers to look up and make proper eye contact.
He’s tall, the neighbor, a bit taller than Eddie, and broad. His light brown hair is in dishevelled curls, he’s blinking blue eyes a little blearily, and he looks mortified, flushed a light pink all over.
