Time has elapsed since Sylvanas Windrunner was sentenced to find and send on all the souls lost in the Maw. It's only been a couple of years for Jaina, but Sylvanas' memories have faded of the last time she walked on the surface of Azeroth. Can the pair make a safe haven that they can both share, or will their past history, and whatever calamity is brewing in Azeroth's future, prove too much to overcome?

My second contribution to Clexmas 2024, set in the universe of A Man on the Inside.
Private Investigator Lexa Woods sends Jake Griffin into the Pacific View, the too good to be true retirement community where jewellery seems to be disappearing at an alarming rate.
How will Jake fare as he infiltrates the community on Lexa's behalf? More importantly, how did Lexa think she was going to get away with sending her former fiance's father into the lion den?
Will a Christmas miracle sort everything out, or is Lexa going to go up in flames like the brandy on the Christmas pudding?

Werewolf genetics is relatively common, but the Ghost River Triangle is the only known place on earth where werewolves can shift into actual wolves. Unsurprisingly, it's becoming a magnet for visitors, leaving Sheriff Haught up to her neck in it, trying to keep both the wolfie and non-werewolf citizens safe and content.
She is aided (or not) by her deputies and a small outpost of the Black Badge Division, as they struggle with strange lone wolves, random packs and a veritable crime wave that may or may not link back to Purgatory's troubled and mysterious past...

However, a boatful of human refugees ending up on Quel'Thalas shores, lead by a defiant young mage with the most startling blue eyes, becomes one of the first human nations to settle on elven lands in millenia.
Quickly falling for this human, Sylvanas resorts to taking the next step in their relationship, only to find out that nobody ever gave poor Jaina a pamphlet on elven courting rituals.

Summary
The war has not gone well for anyone. The Alliance has three months left before collapse. The Horde is not much better off. With neither victory or death as options, Sylvanas proposes an alternative. A treaty, to ease tensions and open borders, with a political hostage to ensure that both sides stay in line. A marriage with many political implications and Sylvanas would only accept one person. Jaina Proudmoore.
And Jaina Proudmoore made for the perfect hostage. If the Alliance moves wrong, Jaina dies. The Horde attacks, and Jaina reduces Orgrimmar to a wisp of a memory in the minds of children.
Of course, no one expected Sylvanas and Jaina to be anything more than uneasy partners with each other, least of all Sylvanas and Jaina...
