For his part, the 11th Doctor was travelling with Clara and though he had become more nostalgic off late he was surprised to find himself looking at a face he never thought he'd see again. He has to deal with the fact that she doesn't want to actually see him.
And somehow despite all of this angst, 11 and Rose have to team up together to save time and a very specific timeline.

Four years since the near fall of Baldur’s Gate. Its savior, Roslyn, is celebrating her engagement to Astarion (everyone would argue it’s about time). They are already greatly looking forward to the attention and gifts it will entail. It’s also a damn good reason to have (nearly) all her friends back in one spot, something that had become difficult in the past few years.
Yet, things go sideways. It’s quite unfortunate how that always seems to happen.
Baldur’s Gate is now a thousand miles away, and getting back seems less and less likely. Gale has only joined this little quest so Yenna could untangle her practice of magic. Now he has to deal with a great-nephew of Roslyn’s human brother whose struggle with understanding magic seemed to reach Yenna better than Gale’s gifted ease. Karlach has only joined to spend some time with Shadowheart, and everyone else of course. Now, she–actually, Karlach was still doing okay.
Roslyn… well, the former princess was the one who started it after hearing that the roaming empire that had burned down her kingdom was threatening another. And Astarion? He is always down for some revenge.

Now she has to figure out how the hells to get it out, if she can learn to trust again, and just how far she is willing to push her oath to get what she needs. Oh, and not fall for the ruby-eyed vampire who was meant to only be a distraction from the looming doom.

Besides,” he grinned, peering off in the direction of the noise. “Surely it depends what she finds us doing.” Panic made Wren ignore him, and she dragged him with her to the closest crypt. Gently she tried the rusted grate, finding it locked. Typical. Peeking around the building, she ducked back quickly as the Mortarch stomped closer.
